Vibrant Matter
The BASE 2025 selected work titled “Vibrant Matter” suggests that matter is not static, but possesses its own will and movement. The bio-based materials behind the lens glass crack, absorb moisture, and transform over time. This process makes the inherent, delicate, and intense vitality of the matter visible. Matter continuously redraws the boundaries of its own existence.
The work asserts that the objects around us are not static and possess their own agency. It highlights the effect of materials and the idea that inanimate matter is not motionless, drawing attention to the intrinsic vitality of matter in relation to the cyclical nature of nature and the return of biomaterials to it.
Granular structures and layers interact with each other, creating a unique form of movement. The appeal of organic materials lies in their inherent, quivering, and potentially intense vitality.
Bio-Based Materials: Agar Agar, Mint, Tea.
Just as biomaterials return to their essential source by dissolving in nature, this artwork symbolizes the endless cycle of existence and reminds us of its vitality.
The dissolution of the material is not a disappearance but an expression of returning to the original source and aligning freely with the nature of existence.

The works explore the transformation of biomaterials back to nature and the intrinsic vitality of substances from a microscopic perspective.
These pieces are assembled to emphasize the experimental processes of natural materials and their layered structures. The changes undergone by the biomaterials behind lens glasses and the cracks created by these transformations highlight the vitality of the material. Each piece presents a series of interconnected experiments, each offering a different perspective and experience.
